Our former volunteers get together in Paris!

In the last two years, more than 30 persons have volunteered, from a few weeks to a few months, at Bayon School to put their skills and energy at the service of our numerous projects. To organize a holiday camp or to develop the Coffee Shop, their help has been more than welcomed to succeed in our mission.

Therefore, back in France, we wanted to thank them once more for their support by organizing a “former volunteer meeting”. A dozen of them joined us for a nice evening in a Parisian bar. It was a great opportunity to catch up with everyone and share with them the latest news of Bayon School.

A reunion filled with the wonderful memories of all the time spent with the students of Bayon School!

Clio visits us to help the coffee shop !

During April , we welcomed Clio to help the coffee shop on marketing and sales subjects. Clio is doing a one year worldtour : every month she stops in a new country to take part and discover a project . April was the month of Bayon Pastry school ! You can visit her website to discover her engaged worldtour : 1month1project.com After the oppenning of the coffee shop, at the end of march , it’s now the time to work on the notoriety to welcome tourists and expats in our garden. Clio, who was marketing manager for Danone, worked on a annual action plan to develop the coffee shop. She also studied new business opportunities to sale our cakes . We try to diversify the distribution and be present everywhere. We have already loyal customers to enjoy our delicious cakes. However the competition is very hard in Siem Reap , we have to develop a strong communication plan to attract tourists ! We wish Clio good luck for her next aventures ! Clio_1Month1Project

New volunteers

I am Alexienne, I come from Montpellier, and I just arrived at the Bayon School for a year, to be in charge of the Angkor Academy Project. Before, I worked with children in the Philippines and in Romania. I have a master’s degree in international law and human rights. I can’t wait to explore the Khmer culture with children from the primary school!

My name is Laura, I have been in Cambodia for 6 months to work as a volunteer graphic designer for a social entreprise. Now, I work with Bayon School and Pastry School as a communication officer. My mother is Cambodian and I discovered her country 2 years ago during a family trip. Since then, I decided to move in Cambodia and to work here as a volunteer.
